The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

GLO
“My music is always a true reflection of where I'm at. I don't like to make it look prettier than what it is. I like being really honest about where I'm at, but I can also use music to safely access my past and still be okay.” — Gloria Kolya aka GLO
GLO might just be the perfect musician to soundtrack a Sydney sunset. Bringing her sultry emulsion of neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop to the Nest, GLO uses music as a vessel for self-discovery, navigating her experience of black womanhood in Australia and addressing themes of sexuality, spirituality and self-actualisation. Meanwhile, GLO’s co-producers and bandmates can hold down an irresistible groove. Elevating her silky vocals are the virtuosic keys of the dieyoungs, Scruffs’ metrical but hip-hop-spirited drumming, and the head-bobbing basslines and guitar riffs of Oscar Veliks.
