The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

Bike Thief

Bike Thief make body music. Rhythms for the club, but not in the mould of a typical banger. The Sydney-based percussion unit has a burgeoning reputation for their high octane, dense, rhythmic explorations made up of percussive knocks, UK-garage-inspired chopped-up vocals and satisfying sub-bass. But instead of playing out pre-made studio constructions, accomplished instrumentalists Felix Bornholdt, Jacques Emery and Alexander Inman-Hislop make it all before your very eyes. Fresh off the back of lockdown, Bike Thief’s first digital performance is not to be missed.
